Music,What is Music?

Music

This post will briefly explain what music is and the various part of music. It will brief you the definition of music: what is music? Basics of music you should know.

The oxford universal dictionary defined music as: “That one of the fine arts which is concerned with the combination of sounds with a view to beauty of form and the expression of thought or feeling “(little and onions 1965, 1300).

The medium of music is sound, some of the element of music are pitch, (melody and harmony), rhythm, tempo etc.

There is ongoing controversy about how to define music. According to Rev. Emmanuel Akintola Olabisi (Baptist music minister) in one of his book titled “Guides to effective singing, correcting common singing problems, 2011.

Music has many definitions depending on the angle you see it from. Some people say it is a unit of life, it is the best way of communicating to people, it is a language etc. in an article titled: THE BASIC PIANO METHODOLOGY by Temu Oluku, states that, notes are like words. The more we learn, the greater the vocabulary we have available to express what God is saying, the article also states that music stands for the combination of sounds that are agreeable to the ear.

In my own definition: music is defined as the combination of organized sound that is pleasant to the ears. The connectionof different sounds put together makes it music. Whenever sound is not pleasant to the ear it becomes NOISE. So you can see that every part
of music is all saying about sound, which means no sound, no music and take note. This sound must be pleasant to the ear before it is called music. Music is the fast way of communicating emotionally to people. Many people think music is all about singing. Once the word; music is mentioned, singing comes straight to their minds. Music is not all about singing but both playing of instrument, dancing, sight reading, conducting and even clapping of hands etc.

Learning of music is not something of overnight but through though many people quickly adapt to it while, others you can talk about years. But the truth is that yourdetermination decides for you, if you want to learn in months or years. The more time is devoted, the more you catch up quickly with whatever you are doing. Music training is an important part of any musician's development. It involves learning how to read and interpret musical notation, the basics of music theory, and the fundamentals of playing an instrument. Music training can also include ear training, which improves a musician's ability to recognize and reproduce pitch and rhythm. Music training is important because it helps musicians become more proficient and creative in their practice. It also helps them to understand and appreciate music from different cultures and genres. Ultimately, music training enables musicians to express themselves more effectively and to create higher quality music. .I also remember that the Music Production Courses In India also provides a professional service similar to this.
